FRACTIONAL CTO /// AI ENABLEMENT /// GROWTH ENGINEERING
I close the gap between engineering and growth.
Embedded technical leadership for insurtech, fintech, and complex regulated businesses, where product, platform, growth, and AI work needs an owner across teams.

/01
Fractional CTO & Engineering
+Turn a consequential technical mandate into work your team can execute and sustain. I set the direction, lead the initiative, and stay close enough to the code that it still holds after I step back.
GOOD FIT IF- You need senior technology judgment without adding another full-time executive
- Marketing, product, and engineering are all doing good work but not toward the same outcome
- An acquisition, new initiative, or modernization effort needs an operator who can get inside the details
-
/02
AI Enablement
+Turn repetitive, fragmented work into durable workflows your team actually owns. I find the busywork worth fixing, build it into the tools they already use, and leave them running it without me.
GOOD FIT IF- Manual, repetitive work is quietly consuming a capable team
- You have AI pilots but no durable way of working
- You want measurable leverage, not an AI theater production
-

Growth Infrastructure + Technical SEO
+Make your growth team faster than the platform underneath them. I do not run campaigns. This is growth engineering: the CMS, analytics, structured data, and technical SEO that decide how quickly the marketing you already have can ship, measure, and get found.
GOOD FIT IF- Your marketing site is important to growth but difficult to change
- Measurement, consent, or tracking has become a risk as well as a capability gap
- Search visibility, AI-answer visibility, or conversion work is blocked by technical debt
FOR INSURTECH, FINTECH, AND COMPLEX REGULATED TEAMS.
ABOUT
I’m Patrick. I run 12:2 Ventures: a fractional CTO & engineering practice.
I’ve worked on early teams, regulated products, high-growth companies, and through acquisition. That experience is useful when the work cannot stay inside one department: a platform needs to change, growth is limited by the systems underneath it, or a new product has to launch within real constraints.
Through 12:2, I work directly with insurtech, fintech, and complex regulated businesses on product platforms, engineering, growth infrastructure, technical SEO, and AI-enabled workflows. These are not disconnected services. They are the technical work required to deliver a business outcome.
You work directly with me. We share the problem and see it through.

It means I work inside the systems where the work actually happens: your planning, codebase, CMS, analytics, and team rituals. You get senior context and real implementation, not a strategy document your team has to decode later.
-
You work directly with the person solving the problem. There is no sales layer, account manager, or rotating fulfillment team. I can help shape the direction, but I am also comfortable getting into the work, especially where product, technology, and marketing overlap.
-
No. I do not run campaigns, own channels, or write your content calendar. What I do is growth engineering: building the technical layer your growth team depends on, the CMS they publish through, the tracking they measure with, and the performance and structured data that decide whether their work gets found. When that layer is slow or fragile, good marketing underperforms. My job is to stop it being the constraint.
-
No. AI is one tool in the kit. The question is always: what would make the team more capable and the business more resilient? Sometimes that is AI. Sometimes it is better architecture, clearer ownership, or simply getting important work out of the queue.
-
Some engagements start with a specific project; others with an embedded fractional role. We will figure out the right shape together.
-
Yes. Health, finance, insurance, and other regulated B2C environments are a particular strength. The work has to account for real constraints: compliance, tracking, privacy, operational risk, and the fact that growth cannot come at the expense of trust.
-
I do not run a content mill or place interchangeable bodies on a bench. I do provide senior engineering and hands-on delivery where it is the fastest, highest-leverage way to move a defined business problem forward.
